Systems Administrator

Regular Full-Time


Ensure the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of Windows servers and components and related technologies in support of core organizational functions.


  1. Plan, coordinate, and implement server installations, upgrades, routine maintenance, vendor-supplied patches and security patches in accordance with established Bancorp Bank and Information Technology (IT) policies and procedures.  
  2. Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), training materials and documentation adhering to industry best practices.
  3. Maintain day-to-day security posture including review and analysis of server security event logs, DLP applications, and other security-related tools.
  4. Conduct reviews and technical inspections (as prescribed by the Info Sec team) to identify and mitigate potential security weaknesses, and ensure that all security features applied to a system are implemented and functional.
  5. Monitor and tune systems to achieve optimum performance levels. Provide system performance statistics and reports.
  6. Define and perform server backups and recovery procedures. Participate in the development, testing, and implementation of business continuity and disaster recovery plans.
  7. Define and implement strategies for integrating disparate operating environments.
  8. Manage day to day questions, issues and problems. Prioritize and respond to Service Desk tickets as appropriate. Respond to escalated issues in accordance with service level agreements (SLAs). Apply proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate and resolve issues in support of business processing requirements. Act as a technical escalation and resource to junior team members.
  9. Participate in the design and review of new server systems, applications, and hardware. Research software and systems products and technologies to justify recommendations and support purchasing efforts. Architect the server infrastructure required to support these projects.
  10. Coordinate and participate in key process improvements as they relate to the client/server and core infrastructure services environment.
  11. Coordinate and collaborate with other functional areas within IT to ensure availability, reliability, and scalability of corporate servers to meet business requirements.
  12. Manage enterprise directory services and supporting server infrastructure.
  13. Mentor junior team members to develop skill sets and educate on departmental standards and policies
  14. Comply with all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations relating to the systems documentation, policies, and practices.
  15. Perform other duties as assigned.


  • An undergraduate degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years related experience in a technical position supporting server environments. Experienced in installing, configuring, maintaining and securing server hardware and associated equipment.
  • Industry standard certification a plus.



Other Qualifications:

  • Strong working knowledge of various technologies including items such as: Windows Operating Systems, Data Security/Data Loss Prevention tools, WSUS, Sophos AV, Powershell, Clustering, IIS 7, TMG, VMware ESX/ESXiView, DNS, DHCP.
  • General knowledge of storage technologies such as storage area network (SAN) or network attached storage (NAS). Knowledge of Unix and Linux based operating systems a plus.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • A team player able to work effectively in a team fostered, multi-tasking environment
  • Ability to prioritize and organize work
  • Position requires a flexible schedule. Off-hours support required through the use of a rotating on-call schedule.
  • Position is required to travel (<5%) domestic and/or international.
