Overview

Position Summary

Manage and direct the day-to-day and long-term processes and operations of the ACH Operations team. Responsible for ensuring the timely, efficient, redundant, secure, and fully compliant processing of ACH origination and receipt files and shadow files for prepaid processors. Act as the primary interface contact with Payment Acceptance Group, Payment Solutions Group, PMO, VMO and IT. Directly oversees the ACH Operations team in two locations

Responsibilities

  1. Drive, ensure and assist with the designing and monitoring of disaster recovery and business continuity plans and procedures for ACH Services. Establish monitoring parameters to provide an early warning of issues and/or problems with file transfer and vendor processes. Establish appropriate escalation paths to insure notification of and resolution of all issues.
  2. Monitor daily ACH transaction and administration activities to detect issues and respond to problems quickly.
  3. Act as the main liaison between internal clients, vendors, and IT to resolve system and other technical issues affecting the file processing. Determine scope of problem including identifying all clients who may be impacted by the issue, estimated time to resolve issue, contact internal clients and provide status updates, and determine the need to switch to alternate or contingency processing workflow/platforms to meet processing deadlines. Alert leadership to major issues and recommendations.
  4. Participate in all RFPs for 3rd party fin-tech providers to insure all solutions will integrate smoothly with existing platforms and processes and to insure that solutions can be supported by ACH Operations.
  5. Analyze and monitor ongoing opportunities to maximize operational and systemic efficiencies and to reinforce core system and procedural redundancies.
  6. Present recommendations to leadership to continually improve and enhance operational processes and technologies supporting ACH Operations.
  7. Develop close working relationships with the Payment Acceptance and Payment Solutions groups, IT, Compliance team and other internal and external support and provider teams to manage issues.
  8. Partner with the systems development teams to build additional functionality, notifications, and other application and platform modifications as needed.
  9. Maintain awareness of regulatory updates impacting ACH.
  10. Act as the primary escalation contact for client relationship managers for elevated client issues.
  11. Manage the   ACH Operations team. Interview, hire, set high performance standards and manage team performance in accordance with all applicable HR policies and procedures. Create an energized work environment, fostering an atmosphere that enables employee trust and engagement. Inspire confidence and motivate others to perform at their best. Develop and coach staff while effectively addressing performance issues.
  12. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education/Experience:

  • An undergraduate degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years managing a financial operations team with strict adherence to critical daily deadlines
  • A minimum of 10 years related financial industry experience
  • A minimum of 5 years payment operations experience preferred

 

Other Qualifications:

  • Position requires on-call availability until 4pmEST Sunday evening through 10pmEST Friday evening.
  • Strong working knowledge of NACHA requirements preferred
  • Some knowledge of one or more of the following systems is desired: SFTP vendor, in-house file movers, ACH platform, wires platform, cash management system, any internal automated jobs, etc.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Must be able to drive through to resolution on all issues
  • A team player able to work effectively in a team fostered, multi-tasking environment
  • Excellent analytical abilities, exceptional detail-oriented focus, with ability to be a decisive, problem solver while working under pressure to resolve problems
  • Position requires a flexible schedule, working afternoons and evenings.
  • Travel between Wilmington, DE and Sioux Falls, SD is required.
