Overview

Manage the leasing department’s credit analysts and oversee the credit function, implementation, and enforcement of the Commercial Vehicle Leasing credit policy on behalf of the EVP/CLO of the bank

Responsibilities

  1. Create an energized work environment, fostering an atmosphere that enables employee trust and engagement. Inspire confidence and motivate others to perform at their best. Develop and coach staff while effectively addressing performance issues.
  2. Lead the most complex credit analysis for credit requests of all denominations up to the bank’s legal lending limit. Review credit applications for compliance and completeness. Work with leasing credit analyst team to collect required credit information for financial analysis. Engage in direct contact with lessee or lessee’s CFO/Accountant for additional information pertinent for financial analysis.
  3. Work directly with the Director of Leasing Credit and Asset Risk to update, maintain, and enforce the policies and procedures of the leasing credit policy throughout the leasing department. Provide training sessions on credit updates and bank compliance.
  4. Manage Commercial Vehicle Lease portfolios in regard to credit maturities and prepare requests for extension. Gather documentation and/or perform due diligence required to approve leases.
  5. Oversee the creation and updating of Vehicle Leasing credit request forms, charts, and applications.
  6. Recommend and support ongoing process, procedural, and or operational changes as needed to improve the efficiency of the leasing department.
  7. Present recommendations directly to EVP/CLO of Commercial Vehicle Leasing and additional members of senior management when applicable, for action (approval or decline) including all relevant data and analysis required by the organization’s credit standards and policies. Present credit underwriting approval packages at weekly loan committee meetings for all leasing credit requests.
  8. Develop close working partnerships with the sales team, leasing operations and other internal company staff to ensure open communication channels are available to handle issues associated with the credit analysis and review of clients.   Quickly respond to calls and requests for information from the team or with the lessee.
  9. Aid in the municipality bidding process. Prepare memos for executive committee for municipality bidding approvals.
  10. Underwrite Franchisor/Franchisee to establish Bank/Franchisor programs.
  11. Oversee vehicle title management for leasing and daily rental customers.
  12. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education/Experience:

  • An undergraduate degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • A minimum of 7 years related Commercial Vehicle Leasing credit underwriting experience.

 

 

Other Qualifications:

  • Strong working knowledge and understanding of traditional financial analysis.
  • Strong organizational, time management and prioritization skills to meet loan committee deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills with strong presentation skills.
  • A team player able to work effectively in a team fostered, multi-tasking environment
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize
  • Ability to read and understand financial statements and tax returns.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, e.g. Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook
