  • Overview

    Manage ongoing loan operations, servicing, processes and procedures for assigned product line(s): Discontinued Commercial, RECM and CRA Commercial Loans; serve as back up to perform daily control functions within the Loan Operations processes and products; work as team leader to improve efficiency in processing, customer service and satisfaction and automated loan systems.            

    Responsibilities

    1. Manage Loan operations team. Interview, hire, set high performance standards and manage team performance in accordance with all applicable HR policies and procedures. Create a flexible and energized work environment, fostering an atmosphere that enables employee trust and engagement. Inspire confidence and motivate others to perform at their best. Develop and coach staff while effectively addressing performance issues.
    2. Train and onboard new team members and ensure cross training is completed for all functions. Conduct team meetings to communicate information and issues affecting the Loan operations. Coordinate staff coverage and schedules as needed.
    3. Performs loan documentation reviews for all commercial, consumer and real estate loans. Ensure the Bank will be properly secured by checking the pre-closing information has been received, the loan document is consistent and reflects the intent of the loan and that the loan approval and proper due diligence has been performed.
    4. Performs post-closing due diligence requirements and properly identifies items for follow-up. Also provides Loan Officers, ARM’s, and RBA’s with guidance in documentation preparation when needed.
    5. Performs reviews on third party documents received as part of the documentation process to ensure that the documents meet regulatory and bank standards and, in some instances, to determine if additional due diligence is warranted. This includes, but is not limited to preliminary and final title opinions, and attorney prepared credit agreements.
    6. Identifies exception items and provides feedback to the banks as needed. Verifies receipt of documents necessary to clear exception items and removes ticklers from tracking reports.
    7. Develops and maintains reporting systems to disclose compliance exceptions to the banks.
    8. Effectively communicates with managers, business partners, processing staff and operations personnel to facilitate the appropriate exchange of information necessary to meet documentation objectives.
    9. Assists managers, lenders and processing staff in developing procedural changes and operating enhancements as necessary to reduce closed loan audit exceptions.
    10. Serves as a resource and as backup for other Loan Quality personnel. Helps manage work flow in the absence of other loan managers.
    11. Coordinate with the loan operations leadership team and business units to improve efficiency in processing, customer service and satisfaction and automated loan systems. Attend departmental meetings to discuss cross-divisional issues and initiatives.
    12. Maintain service level standards for the team, review operational statistics and metrics, solicit staff feedback and identify problem trends for improvement actions. Report findings to management and implement recommendations as approved.
    13. Assist with internal and external audit requests.
    14. Performs various other duties as required or assigned.

    Qualifications

    Education/Experience:

    • An associate’s degree or bachelor's in a related field
    • Minimum of 5 years related servicing experience in a loan administration department.
    • Previous compliance experience from which was attained an understanding of the laws and regulations affecting loan accounts and operations.

     

    Other Qualifications:

    • Extensive knowledge of loan servicing and administration, compliance and audit requirements for lending departments
    • Excellent customer service skills with a high level of customer focus and motivation
    • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
    • A team player able to work effectively in a team fostered, multi-tasking environment
    • Knowledge of MS Office and MS Outlook.
    • Experience with FIS would be beneficial
