  • Overview

    Maintain financial records and ensure that financial transactions are properly recorded. Ensure the accuracy of entries to ledger accounts and reconcile subsidiary ledger accounts to the general ledger in compliance with all audit procedures, processes and established controls.

    Responsibilities

    • Balance all leasing accounts on a daily basis in accordance with banking and departmental policies and procedures. Use established departmental processes for reconcilement activities including entry identification to balance the account, communication with designated department personnel regarding questionable entries, and follow-up to ensure entries are cleared in a timely manner within appropriate audit rules and regulations.
    • Analyze current costs, revenues, financial commitments and obligations incurred to predict future revenues.
    • Prepare balance sheets, profit and loss statements and other financial reports.
    • Perform sales tax reporting for the leasing business unit.
    • Review accounts and verify that the company has received funds to cover specific leasing sales. Identify issues, investigate and research problems working through to a satisfactory solution.
    • Import and post batches to the general ledger in accordance with all finance processes and procedures. Verify accounts for the correct amount of settlement activity.
    • Manage stale dated items within designated deadlines to ensure accounts remain in compliance and all outstanding items are resolved in a timely manner.
    • Manage and communicate the clearing of all exception processing and corrections ensuring compliance with both internal and external audit policy requirements.
    • Act as a leader with other members of the internal team including the sales managers and/or clients to resolve questions with the entries and follow up on outstanding items to ensure they are processed within established timelines.
    • Monitor and analyze account activity to ensure accurate processing systems and controls are in place that minimize accounting losses for assigned account settlements and posting actions.
    • Reconcile, calculate and file the TBBK Direct Leasing sales tax account, as well as, assist with complete filing of Bancorp lease sales tax account. Monitor, verify and perform updates of sales tax rates for 50 states in the LeaseWave system.
    • Manage and administer renewals of business/sales tax licenses for all Leasing.
    • Lead the reconcilement support team, working with them to resolve issues thereby eliminating the need to elevate to upper management.
    • Create and maintain the General Ledger templates in Leasing Operations system.
    • Manage the daily and EOM scheduling for both Bancorp and TBBK DL end-of-day updates of daily business processing.
    • Monitor and reconcile the TBBK Direct Leasing portfolio.
    • Perform other related duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    Education/Experience:

    • A Bachelor degree in Accounting/finance or a related discipline
    • CPA preferred
    • A minimum of 3-5 years’ accounting/finance experience.

    Other Qualifications:

    • Strong working knowledge of accounting/finance functions including sales tax laws, process, and reporting
    • Highly advanced computer knowledge of Excel and spreadsheet applications
    • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
    • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze processes
    • Strong time management and organization skills
    • Result driven, highly motivated individual
