  • Overview

    The analyst will assist in developing and managing AML compliance projects and technology initiatives for FCRM. Responsibilities include developing project plans and outlining key milestones and deliverables, drafting business requirements, reviewing IT functional specs, drafting and executing UAT test scripts to effectively enhance the existing AML/Sanctions technologies. The BA must understand the Risk Appetite of the Bank and be able to manage, identify, and adjust to the changing customer risk profile of the Bank. Use knowledge of AML risk methodologies, coverage analysis, and transaction monitoring red flags to recommend system and process enhancements to align customer activity with regulatory expectations, industry trends, and the Bancorp’s risk profile which includes the ability to structure complex and unique solutions.


    1. Directly responsible for developing and reviewing all types of business requirements, functional specification or technology translation documents (e.g., Scope of Work, Test Scripts, Release Checklists, UAT Logs, FSDs, Runbook)
    2. Assist with drafting and managing project plans and defining project dependencies, assumptions, and risks
    3. Assist with drafting business requirements, procedural documents, and memos and gaining buy-in from key stakeholders
    4. Apply analytics/judgment skills and critical thinking to come to conclusions, develop suggestions and recommendations with minimal guidance
    5. Provide AML compliance support when issues or question arise with various operating teams
    6. Manage the Quickbase application to track issues, enhancements, and other systems requests and assist with prioritization with IT
    7. Assist with vendor discussion, proof-of-concepts, and feasibility studies on next generation tools applicable to the current platform
    8. Present analysis and findings to executive and senior management, auditors and examiners. Create effective presentations and recommendations with supporting evidence to drive AML program objectives
    9. Develop and maintain documentation necessary to support the analytics process within the AML/Sanctions risk management team and to support regular internal and external audits and exams
    10. Assist department leadership in preparing materials required for audits and exams
    11. Develop close working relationships with others across different departments including operations, advisory, business, technology, projects, and investigations to address process and monitoring results and analysis



    • An undergraduate degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of training and experience
    • 3-5 years Business Analyst experience in financial services
    • 1-3 years Project Management experience
    • 1-3 years testing and validating BSA/AML/OFAC models desirable
    • 1-3 years BSA/AML/OFAC and compliance experience

    Preferred Experience:

    • 1-2 years tuning and optimizing BSA/AML monitoring and detection systems
    • Experience in defining key risk metrics, dashboards, and analytics
    • Assist with updating the AML monitoring coverage assessment; identify applicable typologies related to the Bancorp’s products, services, and most recent AML risk assessment and map to the existing Actimize SAM rule set
    • Identify trends and analyze the effectiveness of automated monitoring methods. Summarize findings in a clear, concise manner and communicate results and project progress to AML senior management

    • Maintain awareness of BSA, OFAC, USA PATRIOT Act and current related regulations, directives, and guidance as it affects processes, systems and technology

    Other Qualifications:

    • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills and ability to communication effectively with all levels
    • Strong problem solving, critical thinking and analytical skills with the ability to apply defined methodology to monitoring processes
    • Possess minimum familiarity with technology concepts, including coding, SQL, scripts and deployment cycles
    • Ability to proactively identify and assess potential concerns and risks
    • Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently, resolve issues, work independently, and meet deadlines
    • Team player able to work effectively in a team fostered, multi-tasking environment
    • Good organization and time management skills in a dynamic environment
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, (e.g., Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, Word, Outlook)
