Overview

This position provides support for all loan types managed within the department including 504, 7A, PPP etc. and will take a leadership role when needed to advance processes and determine the best course of action.  The position provides subject matter expertise with the PCFS loan platform and other supporting system functionality and investigate issues and questions regarding the same.  They will build or maintain existing management reports, compile monthly GL reconciliations and reconcile portfolios to servicer records.  This position may assist with booking, quality review and oversight of offshore resources.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions

  1. Provides daily/weekly/monthly reconciliation of SBL balances between Loan Manager and General Ledger. Ensures loan attributes are correct and loans are accruing properly; identify and correct inaccuracies. Contact Servicers as needed to resolve payments or loan boarding issues.
  2. Investigates system or process issue and develop SME-level expertise. Identifies root causes and implement solutions, including contacting PCFS, internal IT or other departments.
  3. Demonstrates sound independent decision making, using available resources, and take reasonable actions to address issues with booking and support.
  4. Cross-trains and provides support for the loan servicing roles, including loan booking and quality review and funds disbursement for of all types of loans and for other loan administration tasks. Provides training, direction and oversight to onshore/offshore team.
  5. Produces daily/weekly/monthly GL reconciliations and management reporting.
  6. Works closely with the VP – SBL Operations and line of business counterparts to identify requirements and develop processes for supporting new loan portfolios as they are launched.
  7. Generates ad hoc and standard reports for management upon request, using various reporting tools to gather the relevant operational statistics.
  8. Supports SOX, internal and external audit processes; research and provide documents for audits and look-back requests.
  9. Coordinates, updates and maintains department procedures.
  10. Develops working relationships with internal partners such as Credit Administration, Finance and SBL to foster open communication channels to resolve issues and problems.
  11. Supports special projects for the department.
  12. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education/Experience Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Seven years loan operations reporting experience, including a background in loan servicing.

Preferred Requirements

  • Previous experience with internal and external department audits and management of SOX controls.
  • Must have strong understanding of loan accounting and loan interest calculations.
  • Experience reviewing key loan documents for consumer and commercial loans.
  • Team lead experience.
  • Knowledge of the PCFS loan platform.
  • Report writing with Business Objects and similar tools.
  • Strong Excel skills and proficiency in other Microsoft Office suite products, e.g. Word, Outlook, PowerPoint.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • A team player able to work effectively in a team fostered, multi-tasking environment.
