Overview

The objective of the Automotive Estimator is to effectively inspect, evaluate, analyze and to act as the liaison between the customer, insurance company and parts vendors to ensure repair process goes smoothly and completed correctly.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions

  1. Create accurate damage assessments detailing parts & labor cost.
  2. Perform vehicle inspections, create damage assessment with pictures.
  3. Complete necessary paperwork and enter into work management system.
  4. Liaison between customer and lease representative as well as maintain communication with customer, insurance carrier, lessee, sub-contractors, suppliers or other parties.
  5. Knowledge and able to explain repairs or billing process.
  6. Effectively manage multiple repairs simultaneously.
  7. Implement an effective quality check process by inspecting repaired
  8. vehicles and ensuring the repair is up to standard.
  9. Evaluate Total Loss claims, vehicles true ACV and settle loss.
  10. Coordinate with Asset Manager body/interior repairs needed for disposal.
  11. Actively work on your own development by staying informed on industry
  12. Maintaining new products, tools and procedures
  13. Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education/Experience Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience performing automobile damage assessment
  • High School Diploma
  • Valid Drivers License

Preferred Requirements

  • ASE Certification
  • I-CAR Certification
  • Strong communication skills with emphasis on customer relations
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Self-motivated, reliable, good work ethic and works well with others
  • Knowledge of EPA & OSHA standards regulating the automotive industry
  • Basic computer skill experience in Audatex, Shop Pro, Word, Excel, Internet
  • Must be able to work in open environment under extreme temps
  • Travel up to 25 %

 Physical Requirements

  • Work in extreme temperature and humidity
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50lbs
  • Must be able to Sit, Stand, Walk, Bend, Crawl in auto body shop environment
  • Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on telephone
  • Must be able to work indoors and outdoors
