Overview

Performs a variety of support activities for the information security function under the supervision of the GRC Team Manager. This includes assisting with the maintenance of information security policies and updates, collating information security dashboard and metrics provided by the GRC team, complete assigned Help Desk tickets, help with internal and external audits, annual IT risk assessments, incident responses, security awareness training and related activities as directed.  

Responsibilities

Essential Functions  

  1. Assists in Cybersecurity security functions as directed.
  2. Assists in the support and preparation of IT systems and applications risk assessments.
  3. Maintains all Cybersecurity policies as directed to comply with financial institution regulatory requirements. Tracks and monitors that employees sign policies indicating that they read and agree to abide by policy provisions.  Elevates issues as needed to management.
  4. Assists in documenting incident response findings for reported customer and internal information security breaches as assigned.
  5. Supports information security projects that address regulatory compliance gaps.
  6. Learns and gets familiar with the FFIEC Information security monitoring functions such as daily log reviews, help desk tickets, participation in the semi-annual access re-certifications, physical security walkthroughs and DB audits.
  7. Assists with third party information security risk assessments.
  8. Assists with the employee security awareness program.
  9. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education/Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity or related field or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • A minimum of 1 year related experience or equivalent classwork preferably to include technical knowledge of web applications, Windows, and IOS.

Preferred Requirements

  • Previous experience working in a financial institution IT environment is a plus.
  • Basic knowledge of active directory, firewalls, IDs and network protocols.
  • Basic knowledge of Information Security Standards such as ISO 27000, GLBA, PCI/DSS, NIST and SOX would be a plus but not required.
  • Proficient verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • A team player able to take directions and work effectively in a team fostered, multi-tasking environment.
  • Experience in Microsoft Office suite, e.g. Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook.
  • Excellent problem resolution skills.
