Overview

This position provides support for all non-consumer loan types on-boarded or serviced within the department including REBL, Advisor Financing, Community Lenders/CRA and various discontinued commercial loans.  They will take a leadership role when needed to advance processes and determine the best course of action.  The position provides subject matter expertise regarding certain standard practices to support commercial loans including review of basic loan documents, remittance receipts and accrual validations.  They will book or oversee the booking of new REBL, Advisor Financing and other loans in the FIS system and will compile monthly GL reconciliations and reconcile portfolios to servicer records.  This position will provide oversight of offshore resources as needed.

Responsibilities

  1. Provide daily and monthly reconciliation of REBL balances between third-party Servicers and the FIS platform and the General Ledger; insure that all loan attributes are correct, and loans are accruing properly; identify and correct inaccuracies. Contact Servicers as needed to resolve payments or loan boarding issues.
  2. Completes the new loan booking to FIS for REBL, Advisor Financing and Community Lenders loans and handles the payment remittances for REBL and Community. Provides coaching and direction to others on the team to do the same and completes a quality review of the work.
  3. Monitors the workflow for REBL future funding requests to ensure the offshore team processes the requests timely and according to procedure.
  4. May complete servicing activities to support the discontinued or CRA portfolios mortgage releases and satisfactions and other maintenance as needed.
  5. Cross train and provide support for the loan servicing roles including loan booking and quality review and funds disbursement for of all types of loans and for other loan administration tasks. Provide training, direction and oversight to offshore team as needed.
  6. Develop working relationships with internal partners such as Credit Administration, Finance and IB to foster open communication channels to effectively and efficiently resolve issues and problems.
  7. Take initiative in investigating system or process issue and develop SME-level expertise. Take steps including contacting FIS, internal IT or other departments to identify root causes and implement solutions.
  8. Produce daily/weekly/monthly reporting for GL reconciliations and management reporting.
  9. Work closely with the VP – Service & Operations and line of business counterparts to identify requirements and develop processes for supporting new loan portfolios as they are launched.
  10. Support SOX, internal and external audit processes; research and provide documents for audits and look-back requests.
  11. Coordinate, update and maintain department procedures.
  12. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education/Experience Requirements

  • An undergraduate degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • A minimum of 10 years related loan administration experience with a background in loan servicing.
  • Previous experience with internal and external department audits and management of SOX controls.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Must have strong understanding of loan accounting and loan interest calculations
  • Experience reviewing key loan documents for consumer and commercial loans
  • Team lead experience
  • Knowledge of the FIS IBS loan platform is preferred
  • Report writing with Business Object tools is a plus
  • Strong Excel skills and proficiency in other Microsoft Office suite products, e.g. Word, Outlook
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • A team player able to work effectively in a team fostered, multi-tasking environment
