AVP SBL Loan Closing Officer II (Remote)

Location: ***This is a remote position and can be located anywhere in the U.S.A.***

Manages, collects and reviews due diligence for commercial loan and lease transactions with a general understanding of commercial loan products including, but not limited to SBA, USDA and participations.  Interacts directly with the team, borrowers, bankers, attorneys and title company to ensure a timely closing while protecting the Bank’s Interest from approval to funding. 

Essential Functions

1. Collect, audit and examine all documents essential for loan closing, not limited to tracking, engaging and confirming compliance of all third-party reports, e.g. real estate appraisals, environmental reports, business valuations, franchise reports and agreements, flood certification, lien searches and title due diligence.
2. Works to independently problem solve and apply expertise in validating due diligence per Bank and regulatory requirements.
3. Build, scan, assemble and maintain all loan files in accordance with Bank and regulatory requirements.
4. Create and maintain all checklists to validate loan closings are managed within guidelines. Manage and update data in all loan tracking systems.
5. Follow up with applicants or applicable parties as needed to obtain missing information. Review all information, cross-check data for inconsistency and document any non-standard matters with proper approval.
6. Manage the closing process creating an efficient and pleasant experience for the Client.
7. Manage the information flow with banks, legal counsel, and others involved in the loan process.  Develop close working partnerships with all appropriate parties during the loan documentation, approval and closing process.
8. Properly account for all fees and charges due within each loan file to minimize loss or missed fee reimbursement.  Prepare and process all loan funding requests to maintain accurate records, documentation and account reconciliation.
9. Perform the proper follow up and collection of post close documentation to clear loan exceptions in a timely manner
10. Foster collaboration and trust within the team and provide leadership and mentoring to other team members.
11. Participate in focus groups to improve the process and contribute suggestions to streamline the process while ensuring quality and compliance guidelines are met. Act always to protect the Bank.

Education/Experience Requirements

• An undergraduate degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
• A minimum of three years related commercial loan closings experience.
