Position Summary

Join the growing, fast-paced, and high-performing Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) team within the broader Chief Risk Office (CRO) organization. As the 2nd line of defense, ERM develops and manages Operational Risk programs, reporting, and performance measurements across all lines of business.


The AVP Senior Enterprise Risk Analyst will be responsible for supporting the design, implementation, and management of the Process, Risk and Control (PRC) inventory and Risk and Control Self Assessment (RCSA) Programs. Responsibilities include business meeting facilitation, process mapping, policy and documentation creation, tool/SOR development, and effective Risk debate and challenge.


Essential Functions

  1. Supports the VP Enterprise Risk Manager with initially defining and continuing to evolve the PRC and RCSA Program frameworks, including:
  • Inherent risk rating factors
  • Guidance on ‘process’ level/definition
  • Taxonomy of risk and control categories or types
  • Required inventory data elements
  • RCSA refresh cycles
  1. Designs business requirements and partners with Technology and Project Management resources to implement a system of record with appropriate workflow controls, standardized data quality, and positive end user experience. Identifies improvement levers and opportunities to automate monitoring & reporting capabilities.
  2. Facilitates all initial process mapping, inventory collection and training sessions with business partners and subject matter experts across the enterprise.
  3. Provides input into the maturation of the existing Risk Dashboard/KPI Reporting framework to enrich the metrics, commentary, and MIS reporting.
  4. Fosters close working relationships throughout the organization, specifically business and departmental sponsors and associated project team members. Lead and/or participate in routine and ad hoc meetings to discuss new, improved or changing products, services, processes and associated supporting technology affecting the company.
  5. Policy, Standard and procedure owner for all PRC and RCSA supporting documentation, including templates and job aids.
  6. Communicates within and outside the department to answer risk questions, enhance understanding of risk and control gaps, and make suggestions on improvements.
  7. Drives culture of safety and soundness across The Bancorp.
  8. Supports the broader Risk organization in evolving the risk framework across all business units, ensuring alignment with the Enterprise Risk Management framework (ERM).
  9. Performs other duties as assigned.


Education/Experience Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Five years Operational Risk Management related field experience, including participation in the development and/or maintenance of a process, risk, and control inventory or RCSA program.
  • Process mapping technical proficiency.

Preferred Requirements

  • Graduate degree (Masters) in a related field or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Extensive working knowledge of the financial services industry, products, and services.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of ERM and Operational risk programs.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Ability to work independently.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and organize work to meet deadlines.
  • A team player able to work effectively in a team fostered, multi-tasking environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, e.g. Visio, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook .
