Overview

Act as the application administrator for business-critical applications to ensure the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of components and related technologies in support of core organizational functions.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions

  1. Plans and coordinates application upgrades, routine maintenance and patches. Communicates timelines to users including system outages, etc. Works with users to describe new and evolving functionality.
  2. Monitors and manages the performance of the assigned applications. Monitors system configuration to ensure data integrity. Elevates issues to technical staff and document processes.
  3. Acts as a point of contact to troubleshoot application issues, works with clients to determine the scope of the problem and collects all relevant details to identify potential solutions. Makes recommendations for work-arounds and/or elevate issues beyond scope of authority.
  4. Gathers business requirements from end users, prepares low level design specifications, tests and deploys new and/or modified functions in an Agile/Waterfall environment. Attends daily and/or weekly meetings to review specifications and works through process and/or functional issues as they arise.
  5. Manages system administration tasks such as setting up roles, workflows and views within the applications.
  6. Performs data analysis, prepares reports and if needed profiles and tunes the system. May require performing some basic development work.
  7. Develops, modifies and runs the daily application processes in accordance with best practices.
  8. Acts as the system administrator to install applications.
  9. Implements different components of business-critical applications.
  10. Performs production support during normal and on-call hours.
  11. Complies with federal, state, and local laws and regulations relating to the systems documentation, policies, and practices.
  12. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education/Experience Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Five years technical IT experience, with understanding of Windows servers, SQL databases, and SQL scripts/queries, including three years installing, configuring, maintaining, and securing application environments experience.

Preferred Requirements

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Industry standard certification.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team fostered, multi-tasking environment.
  • Ability to prioritize, organize work and work on multiple projects/applications simultaneously.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule providing off-hours support. Employee will be scheduled for rotating on-call off-hours support.
  • Position is required to travel up to 5% percent.
