The Vice President, Credit Model and Policy Administration, will play a key role in the development and oversight Bank’s Sponsored Lending programs.  This individual will liaison with Fintech partners and oversee the development, validation and ongoing changes of new and existing program credit underwriting standards and associated models.  This individual will also partner with risk managers from Enterprise Risk, Credit and Compliance as applicable in the assessment and ongoing oversight of these credit standards and models as well as assist in the tracking of individual program loan portfolios.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions

  1. As primary Fintech Solutions (FTS) business model owner, work directly with the Bank’s Sales Team, Client Services and new/existing Fintech partners in the development and review of new and existing underwriting models.
  2. Collaborate with members of Enterprise Risk Management to:
    • Assess our partners’ model risk management framework and ensure it aligns with regulatory guidance and Bank policies.
    • Ensure model methodologies are satisfactorily explained and well founded.
    • Review model predictiveness and validation activities
  3. Partner with the Bank’s EVP Head of Credits Markets and Credit Administration team to:
    • Evaluate the partner’s delinquency and loss projections
    • Develop specific program credit underwriting standards that abide by the Bank’s risk appetite and Fintech Lending Policy.
    • Review, evaluate and approve credit underwriting standards and changes to these standards
    • Analyze ongoing loan origination and portfolio performance.
  4. Liaison with the Bank’s Compliance team to:
    • Coordinate the review of changes to underwriting standards and models for regulatory compliance concerns.
  5. Optimize the deployment of primarily consumer lending policy, standards, procedures, and analytics to support the Fintech Solutions Lending product mission.
  6. Collaborate with business leaders to define the vision, mission, and focus for Sponsored Lending which address the key needs of our customers.
  7. Review, analyze, and prepare presentations on key divisional metrics and business indicators.

Qualifications

Education/Experience Requirements

  • Undergraduate business degree in quantitative field (e.g., finance, statistics, mathematics, economics).
  • 10+ years in Finance or Banking with extensive experience in working on Fintech-driven, primarily consumer lending products.
  • Seasoned background in quantitative analytics
  • Understanding of statistical and machine learning techniques and their application to lending models
  • Experience developing or guiding Fintech lending business strategy and working with cross-functional teams to bring products to market.

  • Demonstrates sound business judgment, analytical acumen, consumer-centric mindset and communication skills
  • Capability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and operate with a high sense of urgency, efficiency and attention to detail
  • Graduate degree.
  • Highly developed written communication skills, including report writing, presentations, email correspondence and verbal communication skills, particularly in dealing with people of diverse backgrounds
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft applications and statistical analysis platforms
  • Position requires some travel as needed.
