VP Financial Reporting Manager

Advancement potential in this new position resulting from growth and expansion under the direction of the MD Chief Accounting Officer, the Financial Reporting and Accounting l Manager in concert with the Chief Financial Officer and senior staff will ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and U.S. Securities Exchange Commission (SEC) rules and regulations. This position may provide support, training, and coaching to business leaders and staff on all financially related matters. This position requires strategic thinking combined with exceptional attention to details, strong organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills.


Essential Functions

  1. Acts as a control over the Company’s periodic filings with the SEC, i.e., Forms 10-Q/K and 8-K.
  2. Manages the planning and execution of annual and interim financial statements preparation, in accordance with GAAP standards. Ensures timely preparation and compliance with applicable authoritative guidance.
  3. Maintains high level knowledge of GAAP, including new accounting standards, SEC rules and regulations.
  4. Creates and edits accounting and finance control manuals in finance and throughout the enterprise covering all aspects of financial reporting.
  5. Responsible for drafting business performance narratives, examining financial variance analysis, communicating results to senior leadership, delivery of daily/weekly/monthly financial reporting (e.g., 10Q and 10K reporting).
  6. Monitors and ensures timely identification and compliance with evolving accounting guidance, provide US GAAP interpretation, and prepare technical memorandums that document issues in a clear, logical, and comprehensive manner.
  7. Assists in compilation of forecast submissions and revenue commentaries
  8. Builds and maintains strong relationships with key business stakeholders across the enterprise.
  9. Performs other duties as assigned.



Education/Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • At least 7 years of experience in accounting or finance, preferably in a financial institution Public Accounting Experience is a Big Plus.
  • At least 5 years of experience with financial statement structures and US GAAP including ability to review, assess and interpret accounting pronouncements and disclosure requirements.
  • Strong technical skills and experience working with large amounts of data (i.e., Excel, PowerPoint).

Preferred Requirements

  • Advanced Microsoft Office skillset (Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Accounting/Control experience – a professional accounting qualification (e.g., CPA, ACA, CIMA)
  • Previous experience in financial institution preferred
  • Results orientated without compromising control, strong attention to detail
  • Highly skilled at problem solving, with a logical and tenacious approach
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as excellent verbal and written communication are must, as this position routinely interacts with employees at various levels
