Perform a variety of functions related to Closing and Operations for Small Business Administration, USDA loans, Commercial Real Estate/non-Real Estate and Construction loans.


Essential Functions

  1. Manages KYC process by obtaining all CIP/KYC documentation on new applicants, which includes searching the Restricted Data Base, and Account Opening Tool risk rating, Review information for accuracy, compliance and acceptability for bank compliance and regulators. If information does not verify notify the Underwriter and work to resolve.
  2. Manages the Anti-Money Laundering process adhering to bank compliance and regulations. Works closely with the FCRM team to document high risk findings.
  3. Work with SBL Operations to manage file transfers of original closing documents for vault filing.
  4. Assists with all internal and external audits with respect to AML/CIP
  5. Collect, audit and examine all documents essential for loan closing, not limited to tracking, engaging with clients and confirming regulatory compliance of all third-party reports, e.g. real estate appraisals, environmental reports, business valuations, franchise reports and agreements, flood certification and UCC searches, filings, title reports, etc.
  6. Manages and maintains the electronic filing of all executed loan documents in accordance with company procedures, processes, and standards and in accordance with company and SBA audit requirements.
  7. Perform compliance checks of core banking system, ensuring data integrity, based on loan documentation and credit approval.
  8. Act as a support to the Closing team; follow up with applicants or applicable parties as needed to obtain missing information. Review all information, cross-check data for inconsistency and document any non-standard matters with proper approval.
  9. Update data in all loan tracking systems. Independently performs the proper follow up and collection of post close documentation, maintaining post-close exception tracking, and tickler system data. Using tickler system, monitor UCC continuations, collateral, insurance, and real estate taxes.
  10. Participate in focus groups to improve the process and contribute suggestions to streamline the process while ensuring quality and compliance guidelines are met. Act at all times to protect the SBA Guaranty or take out participation.
  11. Develop close working partnerships with all appropriate parties, internal and external, during the pre and post-closing process.
  12. Report all loan inconsistencies and properly validate all information provided within the pre-close process.
  13. Perform post-closing review of executed closing package; ensure file completeness
  14. Assist in loan barding to core banking system.
  15. Accurately review and assist in the process remittances reports, including submission of 1502 report to fiscal transfer agent, process data updates to SBA E-Tran system as required.
  16. Work closely with Portfolio Management, and others, to assist with Servicing Actions, Modifications, Amendments, Deferments, and other loan maintenance, as required.
  17. Upon receipt of loan sale proceeds, QC and reconcile required entries. Assist with loan sales/settlements as needed.
  18. Perform other related duties as assigned.


Education/Experience Requirements

  • An undergraduate degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • A minimum of 0-1 years related loan documentation or SBA experience

Preferred Qualifications  

  • Preferred working knowledge of SBA loan packaging, application and loan documentation (express, 7a, and 504 loan programs
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • A team player able to work effectively in a team fostered, multi-tasking environment
  • Exceptional computer, internet and software application skills
  • Exceptional client service skills
