Applications Administrator Intern

The Bancorp’s Internship program is designed to give students a meaningful and challenging hands-on learning experience as well as an inside look into a career in the financial services. Interns are immersed into our culture and will work on real projects within their business lines/function that will expand their knowledge and the tools needed to successfully launch their career and complement their education with real-world job experience.


This intern will assist the application administrator for business-critical applications to ensure the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of components and related technologies in support of core organizational functions.


Essential Functions

  1. Assists application upgrades, routine maintenance and patches. Communicates timelines to users including system outages, etc. Works with users to describe new and/or evolving functionality.
  2. Monitors the performance of the assigned applications. Monitors system configuration to ensure data integrity.  Elevates issues to technical staff as needed and document all the processes.
  3. Works with clients to determine the scope of the problem and collects all relevant details to identify potential solutions. Makes recommendations for work-arounds and/or elevate issues beyond scope of authority.
  4. Gathers business requirements from end users, prepares low level design specifications, tests and deploys new and/or modified functions in an Agile/Waterfall environment. Attends daily and/or weekly meetings to review specifications and works through process and/or functional issues.
  5. Assists in the management of system administration tasks such as setting up roles, workflows and views within the applications.
  6. Performs data analysis, prepares reports, profile and tune the system, requiring basic development work.
  7. Aids in the development, modifications of and runs the daily application processes in accordance with best practices.
  8. Assists system administrator to install applications.
  9. Performs production support during normal hours.
  10. Adheres to federal, state, and local laws and regulations relating to the systems documentation, policies, and practices.
  11. Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to effectively and clearly communicate and present ideas to senior leadership

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)

Program Eligibility

  • Eligible to work for any employer in the United States for the full duration of the internship. The Bancorp will not assist in applying for visas or altering the visa status of applications.
  • Enrolled full-time in an undergraduate college degree program at the rising junior level, junior or senior level standing, enrolled in a master’s program.
  • Students must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0, this will be confirmed by the recruiter.
  • Pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree directly related to the department for which the internship program is listed.
  • Must be available for full-time internship.
  • May not be related to any employee of The Bancorp.
