Overview

The Bancorp’s Internship program is designed to give students a meaningful and challenging hands-on learning experience as well as an inside look into a career in the financial services. Interns are immersed into our culture and will work on real projects within their business lines/function that will expand their knowledge and the tools needed to successfully launch their career and complement their education with real-world job experience.

 

The Cybersecurity Intern will help support Cybersecurity teams: Technology & Operations, and Governance, Risk Management, and Compliance (GRC) teams by assisting with workflows, help with Security Awareness initiatives, help maintain standards, policies, and documentation that govern Cybersecurity program for the company.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions

  1. Participates in the change management process.
  2. Contributes to the ongoing development of the Cybersecurity activities, strategy, and roadmap.
  3. Assists with Vendor Management, and Risk Management programs.
  4. Works closely with senior team members to support current projects as needed.
  5. Helps maintain the Master List of Critical Applications.
  6. Reviews and updates Cybersecurity related Cherwell tickets.
  7. Helps review and updates information security policies, Playbooks, standards, and other Cybersecurity documentation.
  8. Supports vendor due diligence, security assessments and review processes.
  9. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Preferred Requirements

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to effectively and clearly communicate and present ideas to senior leadership
  • A team player able to work effectively in a team fostered, multi-tasking environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Basic Understanding of TCP/IP, computer networking, routing and switching
  • Basic Understanding of Anti-virus and anti-malware
  • Proficient in one of the standard scripting languages such as PERL, Python, PowerShell, etc.
  • Basic Understanding of knowledge of VPNs, Data Loss Prevention (DLP), IDS/IPS, and cloud services.
  • Basic Understanding of knowledge in the security aspects of multiple platforms, operating systems, software, communications, and network protocols.
  • Basic Understanding of operating system and database security (Windows, Unix, Linux, SQL and Oracle, etc.).

Program Eligibility

  • Eligible to work for any employer in the United States for the full duration of the internship. The Bancorp will not assist in applying for visas or altering the visa status of applications.
  • Enrolled full-time in an undergraduate college degree program at the rising junior level, junior or senior level standing, enrolled in a master’s program.
  • Students must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0, this will be confirmed by the recruiter.
  • Pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree directly related to the department for which the internship program is listed.
  • Must be available for full-time internship.
  • May not be related to any employee of The Bancorp.
