Overview

Support the management and administration of the Bank’s Compliance Management System, with emphasis on credit related products and services. Primary function is to develop and manage the Bank’s Credit Testing and Risk Assessment Programs to ensure lending related products comply with applicable laws, rules, and regulations.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions

 

1. Develop and administer a credit testing program ensuring regulatory compliance of Bank credit products and services.

2. Administer and support the credit portion of on-going risk assessments.

3. Review testing and risk assessment results and offer detailed feedback and guidance to ensure clear communication and understanding of results and future expectations.

4. Communicate testing and risk assessment results to pertinent parties, with additional follow-up, as necessary.

5. Assist with the credit related section of the annual Enterprise Risk Assessment.
6. Develop and maintain credit related procedures supporting the Bank’s Compliance Management System.

7. Serve as a subject matter expert for commercial and consumer lending, supporting all lending areas, products, and services.

8. Maintain subject matter expertise and ongoing awareness of the requirements of applicable law, regulation, supervisory guidance, and industry best practices related to consumer and commercial lending products and services. Critical elements include, but are not limited to, Regulation B, Regulation Z, MLA, SCRA, UDAAP and other related laws and regulations impacting the Compliance function.
9. Provide SME support to the Monitoring and Testing team and other areas of the Bank, as needed.
10. Develops collaborative working relationships with various business clients, internal partners, Legal, Third-Party Oversight, Financial Crimes Risk Management, line of business representatives, and other areas, as needed. 11. Perform research on regulatory issues ensuring thorough, accurate, and timely conclusions.
12. Provide regulatory exam and audit support related to Bank credit products and services.
13. Maintains operational standards in accordance with best-in-class and internal compliance rules, regulations, policies, and procedures (e.g., ensure documented procedures and program details address each functional role within the division).
14. Develop and maintain centralized and consistent documentation and reporting for various stakeholders, including the Board of Directors, various Risk Committees, and the executive management team.
15. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education/Experience Requirements


• Undergraduate degree in business or a related field or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
• 10 - 15 years regulatory compliance in banking or financial services industry experience with federal and state regulatory agency relationships, including seven years of management/leadership experience with demonstrated ability to develop talent and manage team members in numerous locations.


Preferred Requirements


• CRCM certification preferred.
• Extensive knowledge of consumer and commercial lending regulations is critical.
• Ability to understand key business and strategic objectives of the company and integrate business, legal and regulatory concepts to provide sound compliance advice.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate and professionally interface with senior executives, business unit staff, business partners, and state and federal regulators.
• Detail oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Effective leader and team-player able to work in a team fostered, multi-tasking environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (e.g., Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).
