Overview

Process and prepare tag and title documents.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions

  1. Prepares tax and title documents; and verify costs for the Lease Finance Department.
  2. Processes the incoming & outgoing Manufacturer’s Statement of Origins & titles for group by daily deadlines.
  3. Processes all new and renewal registrations in the state in which they will be titled.
  4. Submits all legal transfer work accurately to the Department of Motor Vehicles.
  5. Updates and maintains the system which verifies and tracks out-of-state titles.
  6. Compiles and maintains a complete list of all outstanding title work. Report to management on the status of any missing or problem titles. Provide a current list of outstanding titles by monthly deadline.
  7. Prepares a monthly report of any funds not collected from wholesalers due to missing or incomplete title work. Maintains a monthly list of customer tag and registrations to keep renewals current. Process yearly renewal of dealer tags.
  8. Cross-trains others to handle title clerk daily responsibilities and direct title runner in daily routines.
  9. Performs backup runner activities.
  10. Handles administration of Electronic Lien and Title program for mandatory states.
  11. Manages the Fleet Management title inventory.
  12. Processes title applications on retail sales. Prepare titles for wholesale sales.
  13. Develops close working relationships with The Bancorp internally with underwriting and risk departments along with external third party providers and direct merchants. Initiate and maintain outside relationships with vendors, providing credit and risk solutions in accordance with applicable processes, procedures, and standards.
  14. Assists the Regional License/Title teams with tag/title requests.
  15. PAA Certification required or must be obtained within 3 months of starting the role. (For PA only)
  16. PA Notary required or must be obtained within 3 months of starting the role. (For PA only)
  17. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education/Experience Requirements

  • High School Diploma or an equivalent certification.
  • Two years’ in clerical and/or accounting support role, including one-year automotive titling experience.

Preferred Requirements

  • Must have a valid driver’s license and no more than 2 moving violations or at fault accidents within the last 3 years.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Team player able to work effectively in a team fostered, multi-tasking environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, e.g. Excel, Word.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Position is required to travel.
