Overview

Develops and services the more complex consumer loans, including Securities Backed Lines of Credit (SBLOC) and Insurance Backed Lines of Credit (IBLOC).

Responsibilities

Essential Functions

  1. Processes and documents securities and insurance backed lines of credit (“SBLOC and IBLOC”) for all types of clients (individual, joint, entity & trust registrations) developed in conjunction with Institutional Banking affinity partners. Enters application details in appropriate systems, order credit bureau reports, address checks, etc. following all current procedures.
  2. Reviews client investment portfolios for SBLOCs/IBLOCs and works with collateral management team to determine eligible loan amounts using the company guidelines for investment and insurance policy assessments. Evaluates the credit risk associated with the current portfolio. Makes recommendations to the financial advisor if additional amounts are needed than the applicant qualifies for based on the existing asset allocation of the portfolio.
  3. Develops close working relationships with loan applicants, client financial advisors to successfully manage issues associated with the loan application process. Contacts applicants and advisors to follow up on missing information, discrepancies, etc. and ensures a timely decision is made on the loan. Resolves pending issues and inquires.
  4. Recommends loan disposition (approval, counteroffer, incomplete or declination) in accordance with departmental and company guidelines and risk and compliance standards. Ensures loan packages are complete and supports recommended positions.
  5. Enters consumer loan documentation such as entering the applications and loan determinations into the database.
  6. Prepares approved loan documents for execution in accordance with risk, compliance and regulatory processes and procedures to minimize loss to the organization and make recommendations through appropriate channels for final decision. Generates documents and sends using various methods to borrowers for execution.
  7. Reviews SBLOC/IBLOC post-closing documents ensuring forms and agreements are signed and notarized as appropriate. Monitors and tracks incomplete items.
  8. Processes Change in Terms request for existing loans. Reviews information, completes appropriate documentation, assess the loan against the established guidelines and forwards a recommendation to appropriate channels.
  9. Assists with coaching and training other team members on best practices to improve efficiency.
  10. Ensures processes are followed to meet all regulatory requirements, such as Regulation B & Regulation U.
  11. Reviews weekly reports to identify items needing follow up.
  12. Recommends process improvements. Assists with implementation of changes and updates procedure manuals.
  13. Performs various back up activities for other team members.
  14. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education/Experience Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Five years consumer lending experience in a banking environment. 

Preferred Requirements

  • Strong working knowledge of internal and external consumer lending policies and regulations.
  • Strong working knowledge of investment markets and vehicles such as stocks, bonds, and money market accounts.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Detail oriented with the ability to work well under pressure to meet multiple deadlines.
  • Team player able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, e.g. Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook.
  • Proficient with LaserPro Lending Software or loan documentation software.

Salary Range: $48,876 - $100,140
