The Director Head of Embedded Finance is responsible for spearheading the development and execution of the embedded finance roadmap on behalf of the Fintech Solutions organization. This role will lead the design, development and ongoing management of the platforms and processes required to support the solution. This individual will collaborate with business, risk, technology, and operational stakeholders in decision-making and partner adoption processes. This role will be responsible for working with and managing external third-party resources across a variety of disciplines. An ideal candidate is someone who has demonstrated success in launching new products through a combination of effective cross-functional management and expertise in payments, operations, technology, and product development. 

Responsibilities

Essential Functions

  1. Leads the design and development of a scalable embedded finance solution. 
  2. Outlines a technology plan for the required support architecture.
  3. Identifies third party service providers and determines requirements for integration and ongoing maintenance/support.
  4. Develops a framework for ongoing operational support and platform development.
  5. Actively engages and collaborates with senior product, business, risk, legal and operations personnel on key decisions and execution.
  6. Provides regular updates and status reports to executive leadership based on market insights and industry research.
  7. Collaborates with business development by participating in pre-sale conversations and ongoing engagement with partners as the pipeline develops.
  8. Manages a dedicated team of individuals focused on the continual build and ongoing support of the solution.

Qualifications

Education/Experience Requirements

  • An undergraduate degree in Business, Technology or related field or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • 15+ years of experience in financial services products.
  • 10+ years of experience in leading platform/product development roadmap.
  • 5+ years of management experience leading direct reports and cross functional teams.
  • Understanding of modern API platforms and development lifecycles.
  • Familiar with project management disciplines used to deploy products such as Agile, Scrum, Waterfall etc. 
  • Experienced in managing service providers and payment networks. 

 

Preferred Requirements

  • Proficient in product delivery with an understanding of operational support frameworks.
  • Direct experience in vendor selection and negotiation process.
  • Understanding of technology stack development.
  • Excellent communication skills adept at delivering information to audiences of all levels.
  • Working knowledge of a bank’s risk management framework including the role and activity of critical stakeholders involved in the process.
  • Demonstrated success in managing product and operational support teams to deliver valuable outcomes.
