Overview

Work Arrangement: 

***After the initial training period, this is a hybrid role, working onsite in our Sioux Falls, SD office.***

 

The AVP Payments Project Manager I will lead the implementation of small to medium-sized payments programs. This role serves as the primary point of contact for assigned partners and processors, managing program setup, launch, and testing to ensure seamless execution. The individual will oversee the enhancement and expansion of payment capabilities, including tokenization, the addition of new BINs, and the integration of new payment tools such as ACH and wire services. Additionally, this role provides support to other Project Managers in planning, managing, and monitoring medium to large-scale projects as needed. This position involves strong project management skills, a collaborative approach, and a solid understanding of the payment’s ecosystem.

 

Responsibilities

Essential Functions
  1. Manages small to medium-sized implementation projects or program enhancements using established project management framework, tools, and techniques.
  2. Identifies, assesses, and manages risks and issues to ensure the success of the project.
  3. Collaborates with partners, processors, technology partners and internal stakeholder departments. Develops detailed project requirements based upon project scope and oversees project through the entire lifecycle of implementation.
  4. Manages the change control procedure gaining agreement for revisions to the project from project stakeholders.
  5. Provides direction to new partners regarding the bank’s policies and guidelines. Ensures program implementation accuracy and compliance with all appropriate governing entity rules and regulations.
  6. Acts as the primary liaison with assigned Partners and Processors during the initial program set-up as well as additional programs after launch.
  7. Responds to issues and concerns and resolves problems occurring during the implementation. Seeks win-win solutions with partners and handle issues in a timely manner providing a high level of customer service and professionalism.
  8. Manages the project workflow within the established timelines. Manages activities to meet deadlines.
  9. Coordinates and documents communications with external and internal stakeholders and project resources to ensure a successful program launch is achieved.
  10. Prepares and distributes project status, activity reports and schedules to management, and external stakeholders.
  11. Assists in the ongoing development of existing programs to promote growth of the portfolio and increased revenue.
  12. Provides project management support for divisional special projects.
  13. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education/Experience Requirements  

  • Undergraduate degree in business, economics or a related field or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • 1 year experience facilitating small-medium sized projects.

Preferred Requirements  

  • Agile Project Management certification a plus (or working towards such certification) – Agile Certified Practitioner (ACP) or Professional/Certified Scrum Master (PSM or CSM).
  • PMP Certification is a plus.
  • Experience developing and documenting complex process flows via use of Microsoft Visio.
  • A team player, able to work effectively in a team fostered, multi-tasking environment.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite, with an emphasis on Microsoft Visio and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to communicate well with all levels of employees: management, team members, and external partners.
  • Attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and organize work.
  • Problem solving skills and demonstrated initiative in identifying areas of opportunity and following issues through to resolution.
