Work Arrangement: 

***After the initial training period, this is a hybrid role, working onsite in either our Wilmington, DE office.***

 

The Bancorp Bank, N.A. is looking for an innovative thought leader in the banking and fintech space who can manage and execute against The Bancorp's strategic position as an industry leader in the payments, sponsor bank, and fintech marketplace. Works with and collaborates with a large globally dispersed support team and key stakeholders outside the organization.  The Director FCRM Advisory Deputy BSA Officer will interact with a broad spectrum of business partners ranging from Challenger banks, Fintech firms, Cards Networks (VISA, Mastercard), and payment industry leaders to advise on the development, execution, and operation of innovative products and services. Liaises with regulatory agencies and present the Bank's achievements during regular reviews, periodic visitations, or audit meetings. We are looking for a dynamic leader with proven experience in AML Compliance as the Bank rapidly grows its portfolio of very innovative products and services.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions

  1. Guides and advises on issues, matters, and inquiries related to the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA)/Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Sanctions Programs.
  2. Drafts, updates, maintains, and reviews the AML and Sanctions policies and procedures and ensures they are in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations. 
  3. Evaluates and advises during the development of new products and services to determine the level of BSA/AML & Sanctions risk.
  4. Collaborates and assists with the BSA/AML and Sanctions Risk Assessments.
  5. Prepares reports to be used by various oversight and governance committees to understand BSA risk and other related activities and trends.
  6. Tracks BSA, AML, & Sanctions industry developments and maintains up-to-date knowledge of regulatory changes, existing laws, and regulations impacting the organization.
  7. Assists BSA Officer in ensuring that business practices are aligned with Banks' risk tolerance and appetite for BSA/AML and Sanctions risks.
  8. Reviews, analyzes, and makes risk-based decisions on Client accounts and relationships, including account closure decisions.
  9. Addresses issues arising from regulatory oversight of non-US business unit(s) implementation efforts for new AML, Fraud, or other financial crime rules, AML risk management efforts, and new products or services.
  10. Develops close working relationships with business leaders and other stakeholders to advance a culture of compliance within the organization.
  11. Works closely with state and federal regulators, Legal, outside counsel, and business partners.
  12. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education/Experience Requirement

  • Undergraduate degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • 10 years of BSA/AML and Sanctions experience, including 5 years in financial services senior compliance role.
  • Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMs) Certification.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s/JD Degree.
  • Expert knowledge of regulations and compliance best practice related to BSA/AML, OFAC, CIP, and KYC.
  • Previous project management experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships, as well as management and influencing skills.
  • Knowledge and experience with best practices in financial services regulation, AML typologies, and emerging risks in financial crime and money laundering.
  • Good communicator with the ability to motivate others.
  • Problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to analyze complex information to identify the critical issue and drive resolution.
  • Previous experience working with regulators during regulatory exams.
