Overview

Work Arrangement: 

***After the initial training period, this is a hybrid role, working onsite in our Wilmington, DE office.***

 

The analyst will manage strategic data modeling, forecasting, analysis, industry research, reporting and data infrastructure. Prepares business financial models, develop strategic planning scenarios and other relevant financial information to support business decision and strategic planning.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions

  1. Under guidance and direction of various subject matter experts, contributes to the execution of department specific projects and initiatives through data collection, research, analysis, and administrative support.
  2. Develops knowledge and understanding of the Banking and Fintech Industries.
  3. Gathers information from a variety of sources; prepares analytic reports and summary presentations for management use to support competitive benchmarking.
  4. Partners with the finance team to gather and prepare analysis and data for investor presentations, budgets, and other financial reporting needs. Provides early and ongoing identification of financial issues and recommend controls around performance. Meets with internal partners to discuss assumptions and concerns with the data particularly the performance projections and/or best- and worst-case modeling of information for the reports.
  5. Develops an understanding of processes and procedures. Shares insights and recommendations for potential enhancements and efficiencies. Participates in documenting department processes and procedures.
  6. Supports technical and analytical efforts to improve the quality, reliability, and usefulness of data. Presents reports and findings to management. Executive reports may include an analysis of pricing, performance of the business, and other risk, credit, and cost metrics.
  7. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education/Experience Requirements

  • An undergraduate degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • 0-2 years of relevant work experience in the financial/ banking industry.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with S&P Capital IQ a plus.
  • Basic understanding of financial statements and understanding of equity valuation methodologies.
  • Ability to work effectively with various departments.
  • Problem solving, analytical skills, and organizational skills with the ability to multi-task.
  • Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • No travel required.

Physical Requirements

  • Office environment. Sitting for long periods of time, standing, and walking up to 15 percent of work time.
  • Daily use of wrists, hands, fingers to use computer.
  • Ability to hear and speak clearly for gathering and giving simple to complex information.
  • Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on telephone.
  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential functions consistent with ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
