The Director Fintech Lending Products will play a key role in the ongoing execution and deployment of the Bank’s fintech-driven lending strategy, with a primary objective of guiding the strategic expansion of The Bancorp’s capabilities and market presence. This role will provide subject matter expertise in the development of the Bank’s multi-year fintech lending product roadmap by collaborating with internal partners on new and in-house opportunities. This individual will assist the Fintech Solution’s Head of Product and Platform and Head of Partner Strategy in the development of product strategy that supports the department’s strategic goals.

 

Responsibilities

  1. Leads the execution of the Fintech Solutions lending product strategy which enhances the department’s capabilities and market presence as a leader in sponsored banking and lending solutions.
  2. Maintains expertise in consumer and commercial fintech lending products and industry trends, including applicable regulatory requirements. Identifies opportunities and works with the Fintech Solutions’ Partner Strategy team to develop strategies which increase the bank’s market share.
  3. Participates as an active member of the management team within the Fintech Solutions division. Contributes to leadership decision-making that influences the strategic direction and overall priorities of both the business line and the broader enterprise.
  4. Serves as the principal Product Management representative in the execution of the lending product roadmap by serving as the organization’s lending expert and liaison with internal risk and operational stakeholders.
  5. Represents Fintech Solutions in the onboarding and management of relationships with major fintech lending partners, vendors, and industry organizations. Assists with negotiations related to business alliances and strategic partnerships.
  6. Plays a key role in the developing and managing pricing strategies to ensure alignment with overall organizational strategy.
  7. Partners with the Business Development and Corporate Marketing on sales strategy and marketing materials.
  8. Partners with Credit Administration to maintain credit frameworks which align with the bank’s credit risk appetite.
  9. Optimizes the deployment of credit policy, procedures, and analytics to support the Fintech Solutions Lending product mission.
  10. Develops close working partnerships with others throughout the organization, including but not limited to the key support functions i.e., finance, legal, risk and compliance, and information technology. Leads routine and ad-hoc meetings to communicate, and discuss new, improved, or changing products, services, processes, and associated supporting systems and technology.
  11. Reviews, analyzes, and prepares presentations on key divisional metrics and business indicators.
  12. Utilizes data and decisioning strategy to inform enhancements and introduction of new product types.
  13. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education/Experience Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in finance or business or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • 10+ years in Finance or Banking with extensive experience in Fintech-driven credit products.
  • Experience developing or guiding fintech lending business strategy and working with cross-functional teams to bring products to market.
  • Strong working knowledge of banking rules and regulations governing applicable areas of responsibility.
  • Possesses a mix of entrepreneurial, startup/growth, and corporate-level scaled innovation leadership experience.
  • Experience working with capital markets for loan syndication.

  • Highly developed written communication skills, including report writing, presentations, email correspondence and verbal communication skills, particularly in dealing with people of diverse backgrounds.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft applications such as PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Position is required to travel up to 50%.
