Overview

Work Arrangement: 

***After the initial training period, this is a hybrid role, working onsite in our Wilmington, DE office.***

 

Monitors and analyzes transactions for potentially suspicious activities, documenting research and additional, supporting evidence. Assists the Surveillance leadership group, as needed, with team supervision.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions
  1. Conducts internal account and customer reviews to identify potentially suspicious activity. Uses departmental and regulatory standards and processes when conducting reviews.
  2. Analyzes transactional information on the most complex items to identify risks, trends, and potential suspicious activity in accordance with company and regulatory standards and controls.
  3. Provides training, coaching, and reviews work to other team members as necessary, delivering insights and recommendations.
  4. Completes and accurately documents steps taken throughout the review process to ensure the activity record is updated and maintained for audit and compliance purposes.
  5. Develops close working relationships with applicable stakeholders to obtain relevant information related to transaction activity in support of potentially suspicious activities. Gathers details and facts needed to make a determination on activity within the position’s scope of responsibility.
  6. Escalates potentially suspicious activity in accordance with company policies and practices.
  7. Keeps management informed of situations as they arise, keeps detailed records of activities, and elevates questions and concerns.
  8. Acts as a subject matter expert on ML (Money Laundering) and Fraud typologies and red flags, sharing knowledge as needed with others.
  9. Executes and implements projects, process, and initiatives within the transaction monitoring team.
  10. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education/Experience Requirements
  • An undergraduate degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • A minimum of 7 years related AML or compliance experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Extensive working knowledge of SARs, AML and KYC rules and regulations.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • A team player, able to work effectively in a team fostered, multi-tasking environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, e.g. Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook.
